TRANSPORTATION:
No car is necessary for two reasons.
#1 - you're right in the core so it's ski-in and ski-out.
#2 the FREE gondola takes you into Telluride from 7:00 am until midnight, every day.
This home is NOT next to the Parking Lot Gondola. This important difference means you never have to wait in line or call dial-a-ride to get to the lifts or to the core. Don't be fooled by the many condos that advertise themselves as 'right next to the parking lot gondola'. Those can be inconvenient because that gondola station has a line every morning and every afternoon that can be as long as 40 mins to get to the lift ticket office, ski school or just to go into the charming town of Telluride at night!
One reserved parking space and additional, non-reserved parking is available.

We were greeted by the representatives of the owners and everything was better than we expected. I think it's the only house that is walking distance to the plaza, which was important for us because we like going into town at night for dinner. (Our friends staying on Benchmark had to call dial-a-ride which took over an hour to meet us because of the wait. After that, they just stayed in their house.) We just left the house on foot and in less than 5 min we were on the gondola to Allreds and into town without ever having to wait for dial-a-ride or lines at the parking lot gondola. We just loved the views and skiing in Telluride was like skiing in a private ski resort. No crowds. No lines. The kids were truly emancipated and we would just meet them at the end of the day and they were already swimming!
Thanks to long time locals that own the home, they could get into any restaurant and we were treated like we were long-time residents, ourselves. We've stayed at ski-in, ski-out homes before, and this home was not only a better price, but it was a better location (by far!) to boot. We can't say enough about how comfortable and cozy it was, but especially the convenience to not only the slopes, but to apres-ski activities at the Peaks and in-town. Did I say we really loved the location?
We loved staying with you. It was more like a house, though. You should let people know that they are staying in a house which is way better than a normal condo. The ski valet was so convenient that we'll be back next year to stay with you. Thank you, Peter! We've stayed at the Peaks before but this was much better. Larger and we had privacy that we never got at the Peaks. But, we got all the amenities of the Peaks so we were delighted to know you were affiliated with them and could use the ski/boot valet and the apres ski. We'll call you guys first on our next visit. Thank you, thank you!1
Our stay in this condo exceeded all expectations. Plenty of space for my family to enjoy. There was free secure internet access and the rooms were clean and quiet. We loved the kitchen too. Everything is within walking distance, free transportation is available if needed. The scenery is not just a visual, it's right outside the door. Dining and shopping were all close by or a quick ride on the Gondola takes you to the other side of the mountain. We came here to snowboard and really fell for the place. We'll be staying here again next year.
My wife and I have been spending a good part of the summers in Colorado for the past 18 years. Our stay here last summer was the most enjoyable to date. The condo is very roomy (more like a house), very comfortable, quiet and private. It is convenient and within walking distance to the village center, the gondola and market. Great location...we used our car only twice for the entire month! The condo also has its own private garage which was great for storing our bikes as well. We loved it so much that we are returning for another month's stay next summer.
We ignored the overly-critical reviews and stayed at this unique and beautiful home over the 2011 Thanksgiving Holiday. I am astounded at the rude and uppity attitude of previous guests. If you are looking for complete perfection, good luck. I think it uncalled for to tell people to “stay away” – think if this was your property and source of income! As a frequent traveler, renter and owner of mountain property (near Beaver Creek, CO), I am reviewing this property with many perspective in mind. Our stay was magnificent and the location is ideal. Yes, there are stairs as there are all over Telluride. We cooked a full Thanksgiving dinner and found the kitchen well stocked and a joy to cook and serve at a huge table. We skied and the dial-a-ride service dropped us off right at the garage door. There is a nice spa, great bedding, wonderful windows, and original artwork throughout the home. The extra touches of being greeted at the unit and spa products in every bath were great personalized elements. Any support or dining suggestions was simply a phone call away. If you’re looking for a great location with first class service in a comfortable and large home (this is not a condo), please look past the negativity and book this property.
We were greeted upon our arrival and were shown our home for a week in Mountain Village. The vacation home was comfortable in most every way. It is within easy walking distance of the Village center and the free gondola. This home is a stand alone structure without any adjoining neighbors or common walls. There are several half-flights of stairs up to he front door. They were not a problem for either of us.
The master bedroom and bed were very comfortable. There were only two of us, it was the only bedroom we used. The adjoining deck with hot tub was used almost every night. Watched the orion meteor shower from the comfort of the tub. The flat screen tv worked well.
The master bath was roomy. Be patient waiting for hot water. It'll come soon enough.
The fireplace was good. I'm used to a WBFP, but the gas logs provided a good ambience and warming radiant heat without the bother of wood and mess. HINT, the gas log switch is about knee high on the right side. Turn it ON and then fan or blow into the fireplace for a soft gas ignition; else gas will accumulate for 10 seconds or more and then ignite with a nice boom.
Parking is not a problem. The enclosed and lockable garage is at street level only about 50 feet from the front door. Our Nissan Titan truck did fit, so any full size car or SUV should, too.
We didn't use it, but there is a great laundry with two washers and dryers in the lower level and a box of soap / bleach there.
The WiFi worked flawlessly and was high speed. Easy to enter the password and use ith our iPhones, iPad, and notebooks we were well connected.
We never did figure out all of the lighting. There are wall switches in unusual places and lighting fort which we NEVER found the switches. It would help is a diagram for the big room, kitchen, and stairway lighting was available, along with labels on the switches. Working the front door combination in the dark was difficult, we couldn't find the switch for the front porch light.
Our overall rating of Excellent was based on our 7-night stay. We took advantage of the special off-season price and will probably do so again in the future. Our first Telluride/Mountain Village vacation was very enjoyable. Having nice and comfortable accommodations made the week that much better.
We stayed here for a week in January (3-10) and there were 5 of us. All of the beds were used (including the twin bed in the loft area) and they were all very comfortable. This property is more like a house with no adjoining walls, and is easily within walking distance to Mountain Village and both Gondolas. The garage has plenty of parking for 1 SUV and a second car just outside of the garage. We took our golden retriever, who was more than welcome to stay at the property, and he loved being able to play in the snow nearby. We were able to take advantage of the (2) free ski medallions and it was a HUGE savings! I discovered that skiing in Telluride isn't cheap compared to other CO ski resorts...a half day lift ticket was $93!! We used the Ski Butler and had our equipment delivered to the ski valet at The Peaks Resort (where the ski medallions are held). We had read another comment about how many steps it took to walk to the Peaks Ski Valet, and honestly, I'm glad we overlooked it as it was SO incredibly easy and convenient. You are able to leave your ski boots and equipment at the ski valet and walk over in your snow boots - no need to walk bath and forth in uncomfortable ski boots. It doesn't get much easier than that! The hot tub worked great and had jets that were more powerful than any other hot tub we've EVER been in! One of my favorite things was sitting on the deck off the family room, in the sunshine while drinking hot chocolate, and watching skiers come down at the end of the day. Amazing views!! There were a few maintenance items that came up while we stayed here, and Neal, the owner, was in constant contact and was prompt in coming by or scheduling a maintenance person to come by. The only downside for us...was having to carry our heavy suitcases, etc. up several flights of stairs in the snow the day of arrival (after an 18 hour drive). It would have been great if the garage was attached to the townhouse. Overall, it was a great week in a great property!
We came from Houston after weather delays and when we finally got to the home around 11:00 pm, we thought it was perfect. Mountain Limo dropped us off and took our skis and boots to the Peaks Hotel. In the morning after we slept in, our boots and skis were ready for us and it was an easy trek to the ski valet to change into our boots and then ski. There were medallions left for us at the valet so we got skiing included for our entire stay for my husband and I and it was really great. The kids went to ski school after the first day, which they spent just watching TV and enjoying the views.
The upstairs bedroom was perfect for our two children (ages 12 and 14 and their 14 year old friend) and although there were no video games in the house, we were able to use our netflix account and we lined up a couple of documentaries that we thought the kids would enjoy and they spent the day getting involved in ecology, global warming issues and they even want to come back to Telluride in the summer after we talked about them.
The house was PERFECT. It was not fancy, just well layed out with a kitchen, living room and dining area on the main floor along with the kids bedroom and the lower level had an extra room which my husband used becaues he likes steam showers. My bathroom was big enough for both of us with a shower, jetted tub and double vanity as well as a private comode (sp?) room.
We thought the house was perfect. We removed the foam headrests from the hot tub because they were starting to break up and the owners told us they will replace them in two weeks after the season ends. It didn't matter to us because we prefer to use the hot tub without those icky things anyway.
We've made arrangements to come back for 6 weeks this summer. Except for the faded curtains which we think should just come down and let the light in, we loved the home for our entire stay. It's really better than a ski home, it's a home home.
What a beautiful property, location, and furnishings awaited us after a long drive! Perfectly situated, gorgeous views inside and out. More than enough room for all of us, really nice accommodations. As an art lover, was especially appreciative of the various works of exceptional art on display. Very very comfortable. I only gave 4 stars because the arrival procedures were less than optimal; we had to call several times just to get the door access and relied on piecing together the location and unit number. Once in, however, it was splendid. Really enjoyed the layout and the pretty private hot tub!
If you stay, make sure to buy things like tin foil and plastic wrap; these were the only things we didn't have and could have used. Would definitely stay here again:)
We stayed here for Blues and Brews 2016 for my father-in-laws 60th B-day and we all had a great time. Great location, only a quick walk to the Gondola! There was always an open parking spot out front on the street (which was a concern before arrival since we had a few vehicles), but surprisingly never had any issues parking our trucks. I would definitely stay here again. No complaints...
We stayed here for a couple of days as part of our annual "guys fly fishing trip" before floating the Gunnison Gorge. Great location and value with room for 6 adults. Met our needs and budget. Owner was very helpful and responsive. Would recommend and stay here again.
We spent a week over Thanksgiving and the house was perfect! It is in a really great/beautiful location - short walk to Mountain Village and gondos (lots of restaurants and good shops). It's a big house with plenty of room for everyone. We enjoyed the hot tub most nights. The hosts were great to work with - very helpful and responsive! We will definitely be back.
Couldn't beat the location and we all fit comfortably. Having the ski medallions was a big bonus. House is starting to show some wear and tear, but over all very happy with our experience
The condo is close to the Village and was easy to find, but I wouldn’t say it was “next to the Peaks”. We walked downhill in the morning to get our skies and uphill in the afternoon, which made it a bit tiring but not impossible. The ski valet at the Peaks was exceptional. All of the attendants were helpful and friendly. The ski medallions were also a plus and definitely saved lift ticket costs.
The condo does have a good amount of living space and met our needs. We cooked most of our meals at the condo. The kitchen had useful equipment but was also missing some very basic items. We had to scrub many of the pans to make them useable, there were limited cleaning supplies, smaller measuring cups were missing, and serving spoons missing. There were knives but many of them were dull.
The condo needs some attention and a deep clean. The issues we found included:
• A lot of clutter and owner’s personal items. The storage cabinet in the dining room had items that would never be used by renters. The master bedroom closet door did not fully close and the closet was filled with paint cans, supplies, drop cloth, two dining room chairs, framed art, and the shelves were packed with bedding. We felt like we were tripping over everything all week.
• The lighting in the day time is great but at night is very dim, especially in the kitchen.
• Many of the dresser drawers are broken.
• Bathroom faucet handles are not aligned and make it difficult to figure out a balance between hot/cold water.
• Bathrooms with grout and tile have a mildew buildup and the master tub was clogged.
• Inside surfaces are dirty and in need of dusting including the fireplace screen, the tops of headboards, and a lot of the personal items with cobwebs.
• Pillow protectors and duvet covers are a must.
• Carpet needs to be pulled to get rid of ripples.
The hot tub was well maintained and the BBQ worked but needed some cleaning in order to use. Unfortunately we had to shovel snow and ice off the deck to get to both of them. The front deck required shoveling which should have been done before we arrived.
We were able to make the accommodations work for us but we decided that in fairness to other renters we needed to be honest in our review. The location is showing wear, could use a deep cleaning, a good handy man to fix the small items that make a good impression, and a declutter of the owner’s personal items.
Plenty of room. Comfortable beds. 3 baths.
During our most recent ski vacation I felt very much like a millionaire staying in a multi million dollar plus home. The views out of the huge windows and off of the many decks, of the mountains, valleys and village are truly amazing. The living space is very comfortable with plenty of room to spread out. Our beds were very cozy, the linens and comforters top notch. Our group watched very little television but if you are in a group that does, there are televisions in every room. The hot tub, very clean, was a great place for us to gather after a day of skiing. The location was within close proximity of the restaurants, shops and free gondola that took you into the town of Telluride. Any minor issue we had; after a phone call or e-mail, was immediately addressed by the owner. The listing of being a Ski-in,Ski Out Condo may be a bit misleading to some. It is a short walk, up and down a hill to and from the ski valet at the Peaks Hotel where your ski equipment is stored. The service at the hotel could not have been better. Our boots were dry and warmed each morning. Our skis waiting for us to step into each day. The two free ski medallions a big savings. All of the above made up for the short walk. I highly recommend this home to all who are considering a vacation in Telluride.
No complaints... the jacuzzi was amazing, and the condo was stocked with everything we needed. Also had no problems with parking. Hoping to come back in the future!
Came to spend the weekend with family and wanted some room to spread out, this house was the ticket and what a great value. The house had everything we needed to prepare our own meals and was very well organized. The artwork around the house was a added bonus and much appreciated.
This is a spectacular house for groups! I stayed here with a group of 9 for Blues & Brews. It's a great setup with large kitchen/living area and patio with mountain views! It's a quick 5 minute walk through Mountain Village to catch the gondola to town. I will definitely be back to Telluride soon and would not hesitate to stay at this location, if available!
The stand alone property was an easy walk to The Peaks Resort where we had ski valet service and use of the gym and spa/pool facility- all of which were amazing. The use of the two ski medallions is also a big bonus with this property.
The property itself was comfortable with all the conveniences we were looking for to be able to cook meals for 8 people. The only downsides we would comment on is that the property could do with a bit of a rejuvenation. There were a number of tiles broken on floor surfaces and mats or carpets that were very worn. The home is over filled with furniture, especially in the main living area.
While there were a few detractions, overall we had a fantastic holiday in a comfortable house for two families with adolescent kids. The property is an easy walk to Mountain Village gondola which takes you to Telluride town or to the mountain village market. Food is not surprisingly expensive in the supermarkets here. If you have the opportunity, stop for groceries in Montrose or Cortez before arriving here.
Telluride we love you- we will be back.
Has all the amenities you could want. Private hot tub was great apres ski.
First......Telluride exceeded my expectations. It is a wonderful ski resort.
Second......Crystal 14 was perfect for our family. It's location is unbeatable. The ski medallions and ski valet service are a real deal. It saved us hundreds of dollars. The condo felt like a real home. It was comfortable and easy to live in. It contained everything we needed. We truly felt at home.
Third.......The owner, Neal, is as responsive as we have found. He answered all our questions during the rental process within an hour. By the way, make sure you visit his gallery while you are here. He has some incredible original art (museum quality) and jewelry.
Easy walk to gondola which takes you to grocery store or over mountain to Telluride.
The unit was perfect for our needs and owner was very quick to respond to any and all questions we had. We would definitely go back. Thank you.
Crystal 14 fit our needs. With 10 people, we needed space. The kitchen was well stocked. The owners responded quickly to our needs during the week. The ski medallions were a great addition to the vacation. The view from the deck is wonderful.
I would not label the property ski in, ski out. There is a short walk to the slopes. The ski access is through the Peaks resort.
The home worked out fine for our group of 2 families but overall it could use some general maintenance to bring it to par with other places we’ve stayed in the area. The home is showing it’s wear as a rental over the years and could benefit from an end of season refresher (new paint throughout, replacement of broken /cracked tiles, stretching and cleaning of carpet, de-cluttering of closets and unnecessary furniture). The hike downhill /uphill to and from the Peaks for ski equipment was more than we expected. If you were staying at the Peaks, I’d call it “ski-in, ski-out” but the hike to and from the house makes it less so. Not an issue for summer renters as the walk to the village center isn’t bad. We really enjoyed the hot tub at the end of each day and the 2 ski medallions were definitely a nice perk!
We were thrilled with the location, despite the many steps. The Peak's ski concierge and ski medallions really improved our skiing experience. Also, it was only a short walk to the gondola, which our non-skiers rode to Telluride for shopping, lunch, and some sledding at Town Park. The house accommodated our large group and was well worth the rental price. Although the sleeper sofa mattresses were comfortable, we wished the open (no doors) dens had more privacy. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook dinner, but we could have used some storage containers for our left-overs. The double washer/dryers were appreciated. Our group would definitely stay at this house again on our next ski trip.
We traveled with a group of 11 people which included 5 couples. The two “loft” areas slept fine but don’t include the same privacy that comes with a bedroom. Overall we made all of it work and the inclusion of lift ticket passes made this a wonderful place. I would recommend staying here.
